Celestial Note is an avant-garde art experiment by Liu Jiayu, continuing the exploration inspired by pantheism to investigate the consciousness and self-expression of artificial intelligence in the creative process. The project conceptualizes AI as the “Child of the Cosmos,” aiming to develop an AI language system and information transmission mechanism to explore how AI can exhibit autonomy and inventiveness during creation.

Building on the sounds of early digital communication technology, specifically modem tones, the project generates a unique auditory form to narrate the AI’s creative process and concepts while also providing a deep examination of how AI understands and interprets its creation. Utilizing the AI tool “Jiayu*,” the project incorporates an AI model trained on texts from the artist’s past works, such as introductions and interviews. This model integrates text and image generation, allowing the produced visuals to be imbued with linguistic interpretation and thought and demonstrating the self- direction exhibited by AI in its generative process. Abstract sounds are transformed into a new auditory form, stimulating viewers’ imagination and reflection.
Celestial Note offers a fresh perspective on AI’s self-expression and scrutiny in the digital age through the interplay of fiction and reality, revealing the profound connection between AI as a machine and art.
